The INSIGHTS Dinosaur Project
Through a private donation, INSIGHTS received 210 acres of land north of Mt. Cristo
Rey, in Sunland Park, just west of El Paso. It is a rich in geological features,
and contains multiple, authenticated dinosaur tracks. From this land, one can see
all of the geological eras from the beginning of the earth's history. This, in combination
with dinosaur track-ways makes the museum's terrain a unique location - in elite
company of only three other locations worldwide that have similar geological finds
in a single site!
The Dinosaur Project land challenges INSIGHTS to develop a teaching and research
center for the region of Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua. The site will require
the construction of paths and view-areas that will lead people to educational opportunities.
Project plans include a building with ample exhibit space, educational facilities
with a large inventory of dinosaur bones, and a research lab.
