Nerd Night: Digital Currencies
Wednesday, January 26th @ 6pm
Blockchain Technology | Cryptocurrencies | NFT’s | Basics of Digital Currency Investment
Digital currencies, though not a novel concept, are all the rage these days. In fact, several countries have launched central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and many others have pilots or research programs to do so as well. Even more remarkable, in 2021 El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as its legal currency. Cryptocurrencies are quite intriguing, but it’s not surprising that many people still don’t understand how it all works. Join us for this month’s Nerd Night to gain better insight on the science and technology behind digital currency mining, learn all about the different types of digital currency, and ask our experts on ways you too can mine and/or invest.
- Majeed Kariem (Certified Bitcoin Professional & CEO of the Blockchain Merchants Association) – Recent explosion of cryptocurrencies including El Salvador’s official adoption of cryptocurrency and the practical applications of cryptocurrencies
